Qualities of a global citizen?

Have you ever wondered what means to be a global citizen?.What qualities make you become a global citizen?.These are questions that are not easily answered. According to point of view of a lot of people to become a global citizen.There are three major qualities. The first is responsibility. The second is awareness. The third is empathy. These are a big qualities make you become a global citizen.

Firstly, responsibility means you have to take the consequence for your own action in dictionary. Responsibility of a global citizen means you must help your community and people all over the world in needs. For example,you have to protect citizens in your community andthe government.In addition, you must know what’s happening in around your country such as: economics, education, polity, society and so on. If your country is being threatened, you must stand up and protect it. You know what you can do to help your community. Especially,the poor and the disable need to help from you about matter and spirit in order to overcome difficulty in their life. For people all over the world, you should invite donations from the public to victims in the war or oppose the war occurs... Besides, you have a responsibility for our planet because “the world is on our hand!”. For example, you should learn to use our natural resources. In addition, you should plant trees and protect wildlife, sea, forest and e.g.… That are at least responsibilities you have to do.

Secondly, it is the most important thing in being a global citizen is awareness. It means you should involve your community and what is going on in the world around you.Every day, you read information or events in the newspaper or in the internet. Then keeping in your mind including problems in the government and other issues in the world. For example, when you are aware the law in your country you should obey the law such as traffic laws, tax laws, work activities, school, home,the laws in your company.Besides, you have to know more and more international laws. Not only you know your community but also you must know what’s happing in the world. As well as, in Vietnam “Vietnam’s southern metro to build monorails, subway line”. In the End of Poverty ”more than 20,000 people perished yesterday of extreme poverty”. According to Kyodo News “more than 70,000 people died and missed after earthquake, tsunami in Japan”. These are events which have happened in the world if you are a global citizen you must know. Awareness is really important quality in global citizen.

Finally, besides awareness you must have empathy. It is necessary to become a global citizen. That means the more you learn, the more you able to feel empathy. For example, when you read some articles about the tsunami in Japan that make you feel upset. You think “What should you do to help them in order to overcome this disaster?” . You can send letters to share difficulty with them in order to encourage them to overcome the fear in the disable. Examples include, you can connect with people all over the world via the internet to share problems with together. You are able to make everyone to be close.In addition, everyone lives in a “global” world and has an international language.Therefore, a global citizen must have empathy to people all over the world such as people in Africa, In Japan, in Libya. They have to face dificulty in their life.They are being helped about food, medicine, fresh water, clothes and e.g. Are you willing help them?. If you are willing to help them not hesitate, it means you have empathy. Empathy makes a global citizen significant.

To sum up, there are three major qualities to being a global citizen that everyone should have: responsibility, awareness, empathy .In fact,there are many other qualities to be a global citizen but these are really necessary to a global citizen. Global citizen make the world a better place
